To protect Jewish life and Jewish way of life in New Zealand
The threat of anti-semitism is real in New Zealand. Our dedicated
group of volunteers work hard to ensure the safety and security of our
friends, family, and fellow congregants. We train regularly to ensure
that the service we provide is the very best. Our close working
relationship with the New Zealand Police ensures that any incidents are
dealt with promptly.
The Community Security Group was founded in 1990. Unfortunatley an
incident was the impetus for forming the group: a mentally ill woman
stabbed six young students at a Jewish school in central Auckland. Such
an extreme incident highlighted the vulnerability of our small
community. There have been many changes to the group over the years. The
mission (see above) has not changed.
